CEQA, NEPA & Related Environmental Studies

Sage Institute staff are recognized experts in applying the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and managing the complex processes pursuant to those regulations.  In support of these efforts, our inhouse capabilities include a variety of related technical studies, including biological assessments, air quality modeling, greenhouse gas emission (GHG) analysis, noise analysis, and agricultural suitability based on the Land Evaluation and Site Assessment (LESA) approach.

Our multi-disciplinary senior staff take the approach of working with clients to simplify the complex regulatory framework to the extent possible, to allow the public and decision makers to understand the complex issues in a meaningful and understandable way, without sacrificing the scientific rigor underlying the analysis.

Our staff’s strong policy and planning background also allows us to translate these skills into highly readable and usable constraint studies, which are commonly applied to the environmental review and design phases of a project at the outset of the planning process.
